On the Tenth Day of my Great Resignation, my decision gave to me, the opportunity to exist intrinsically.
Intrinsic motivation is the act of doing something because it is personally rewarding. Extrinsic motivation involves doing something because you want to earn a reward or avoid punishment.
Do you believe you are operating from an extrinsic place, or an intrinsic place?
When we operate from an intrinsic motivation, we find our flow is much easier to reach. Spending time simply reflecting on what truly motivated me, gave me delight, and provided so much adrenalin that nothing could stop me from the decision to pivot into The Freckled Strawberry. For so many years, I was measured, poked, prodded, punished, promoted and poached that it was hard to hear my own intrinsic voice, validating my value simply by existing.
I challenge you to spend some time reflecting on who you really are and what you would like to bring into the world. Maybe you’re already doing it. If you are, YAY! Keep going. If you haven’t hit your flow, let’s talk and see if we can manifest it, and deliver it to the world.
You know the place, right? If you haven’t heard of flow, stay tuned and read my next blog, because flow is an amazing place that I highly recommend exploring.
