On the Sixth Day of my Great Resignation, my decision gave to me, the gift of Delight!
A lite heart, a smile and a skip in my step.
Nothing profound really, but a feeling of euphoria. With arms outstretched, chest filled with confidence, a smile as big as Montana, my wings fluttered open and I began to fly…
I was taking flight.
The delight I received from my colleagues, friends and foes returned to me ten-fold. Slicing and dicing my day into thirty-minute increments seemed rushed and disingenuous. How would my calendar look in a week, a month or even a year? Would I have a new standard of how I measured success? Delightful!
Shedding the responsibility of required meetings, assigned activities, and projects with unrealistic deadlines, is allowing me the chance to breath and reconsider how I define success. The days of rigorous zoom calls with tight time slots, now seemed silly and constrained. Laughter and levity in my professional delivery seemed refreshing. More delight!
Delight has become more valuable, carries a higher premium, but delivers high returns.
